Our workshop on diesel engines received its premiere in Essen, Germany, in February 2010.

Purpose:

Designed as a on-the-job-training participants learn the safe handling of yacht diesel engines close to the real object. They assimilate competent knowledge which enables them to repair and maintain the system even on longer passages. Having completed the course, the participants are able to analyze a wide range of possibly ocurring defects and set them right.

Duration: 2 days, Friday and Saturday

Content:

This workshop goes far beyond the scope of the RYA diesel workshop, originally held in the UK.

Participants virtually gather hands-on experience on an executable Volvo Penta diesel engine! 

They learn about:

• Operation mode of the diesel engine and its aggregates,
• Parts and construction,
• Engine check,
• Troubleshooting and fixing. 

The course is partly held in English and concludes with a written examination. After successful completion of the seminar, the participants receive a RYA Course Completion Certificate and in addition a Certificate of the Yacht Skipper Academy.
