Many a time till this day I have been directly commissioned by shipyards. 

Especially in cases of conflicts with customers or suppliers independent advice from an outsider may be helpful. 

Among others my tasks include the following:

• Preservation of evidence 
• State reports on accomplished work 
• Evaluation of cost estimates
• Taking of samples (for immediate analysis or storage) 

In the event of a controversy with a customer, which may even lead to a legal dispute, the chance of success is significantly higher, if the issue is recorded by an independent body.
